It’s time to hit the streets of Westcott, the developing new town on Gerry Leone’s HO scale model railroad. After adding lights to structure interiors, adjusting city blocks, and then building, painting, and weathering sidewalks, our host shows his technique for paving roads made from medium-grit sandpaper!

  1. Thank you so much for showing use of the weldbond. I purchased this for a home project but needed a further example of it’s use. The sandpaper streets should look great and I’m anxious to see them in the next video. Thanks for all the great explanations!

  2. Gerry,

I’m thoroughly enjoying this portion of the series. I realize the blocks are .080 thick, but aren’t you concerned with the edges curling and/or warping?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    1. Thanks for your comment, Steve! I’ve used .080 styrene in the past for city blocks and they neither curled nor warped. I realize this Palite isn’t styrene, but I would think it’d be more stable than styrene — it’s foam in a PVC sandwich. If it DOES warp or curl someday, it’s easy enough to just make new blocks, or even easier, to glue down the blocks to the street to eliminate any gaps.
