Work on the HO scale Milwaukee, Racine & Troy (MR&T) Jones Island project has come to a close, so it’s prime time for David Popp and Eric White to survey the 14 x 3-foot finished layout section! Follow along as the two hosts, along with Cody Grivno and Ben Lake, point out specific scenes and structures they helped complete. Of course, no layout is ever really complete, but that doesn’t stop the crew from adding trains to simulate a realistic operating session!

Rehab My Railroad is a cherished series begun on Model Railroader Video Plus in the mid 2010s. Episodes feature Model Railroader staff surrounding an existing layout with their knowledge, wisdom, and skills to help the host modeler upgrade the model train layout’s features without tearing down or completely re-building the railroad.
The MR&T stands for Milwaukee, Racine & Troy and is the large-room layout built more than 20 years ago by Model Railroader staff and their friends. The HO scale layout hosts multiple revisions and updates each year to support feature articles in Model Railroader magazine or online at Trains.com.
Always good to watch an operating session and see the MR&T switchers working Jones delivering cars.
Finally. i gave up looking for this
I did not notice this until today’s episode: the color of the rails in Jones Island look anything but steel rails. Maybe it’s the white balance but the color looks the same as the ties.
IMHO, there needs to be more “rust” color.
The ties in the video look the color of concrete ties and maybe that is what is on Jones Island but they are the shape of wood ties.
Thanks for all the videos!
Joe
Hi Markus – that’s the Canadian Canyons layout from 2017. You can find more about it here: https://stage.trains.com/?s=canadian+canyons

Great series guys! All of your modeling efforts ended up blending together seamlessly. I really enjoyed watching this series. Loved to see it operate too. Hopefully, you’ll pick another area of the MR&T to rehab and do a follow-up series sometime soon!
Excellent episode! Enjoyed the operation section! Will there be additional MRT operating session videos?
David,
Very enjoyable series but what happened to episode 13, 14, and 15? Did I miss something.
Steve
Nice Video,
may I ask what layout could be seen on some shots behind the highway bridge on Jones Island which seems to be covered in snow?
