What could be: See how Trains Art Director Tom Danneman added — layer by layer — the various color, striping, and artwork to his photo of a Montana Rail Link SD70ACe, creating a commemorative paint scheme for Union Pacific’s celebration of the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad. The imaginary paint scheme pays tribute to Union Pacific No. 119, which was one of the locomotives that participated in the golden spike ceremony in Promontory, Utah, 150 years ago. Before beginning with the new scheme, the original photo of the MRL SD70ACe was Photoshopped so that all lettering and numbers were removed, and some color tweaked for final layering of the attractive scheme.
