WASHINGTON — The Surface Transportation Board is seeking candidates to fill vacancies on two of its advisory groups, the Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee and the Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council.
There are nine vacancies on the energy committee, the board said: one each for a representative from CPKC, CSX, and a Class II or Class III railroad; two each from the petroleum shipping industry and electric utilities; one from a representative of biofuel feedstock growers, providers, refiners, processors, or distributors; and one at-large position. Nominations, for three-year terms ending Sept. 30, 2028, are due Aug. 8; see the board decision for more information.
The board is also seeking nominations to fill two positions on the railroad-shipper council, one from a small railroad and one from a small shipper. Those nominations are also due Aug. 8. More information is available in the board’s decision.
The Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee can have up to 29 members and meets at least twice a year. The 15-member Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council meets at least quarterly.
