New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other officials held a ribbon-cutting earlier today marking the completion of the Moynihan Train Hall, providing the first look inside the $1.6 billion facility across 8th Avenue from New York Penn Station that provides new waiting rooms and access to Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road trains.
One entrance to the facility is scheduled to open on New Year’s Eve, with the full opening planned for Friday [see “New York’s Moynihan Train Hall to open Jan. 1,” Trains News Wire, Dec. 28, 2020]. “As dark as 2020 has been, this new hall will bring the light, literally and figuratively, for everyone who visits this great city,” Cuomo said in a press release, which offers additional details about the new structure.
