The resumption of two daily round trips on the St. Louis-Kansas City, Mo., Missouri River Runner will be marked with ceremonies at cities along the route, Amtrak says.
The second round trip, restored through funding approved by the Missouri General Assembly and Gov. Mike Parson, resumes Monday, July 18 [see “Second ‘Missouri River Runner’ to return …,” Trains News Wire, July 6, 2022].
The events bringing representatives of Amtrak and communities on the route to local stations will be held in conjunction with Monday’s trip for train No. 311, which departs St. Louis at 8:15 a.m., with stops according to the schedule at right.
In addition to making possible single-day round trips along the route, the restoration of the second train comes in time to offer service to the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, Aug. 11-21.
