FORT WORTH, Texas — Investigators and railroad officials are looking into the cause of a derailment and tank car fire early Wednesday morning in Fort Worth.

Union Pacific representative Kristen South tells Trains that about 25 tank cars hauling ethanol derailed near Echo Lake close to 12:30 a.m. The trains’ crew was not injured and besides the freight cars, only a single out building was damaged by the ensuring fire, reports the Fort Worth Star Telegram newspaper.

South says the fire is contained, but that hazardous materials specialists remain on scene.
