NEWARK, N.J. — NJ Transit announced Wednesday it had signed a three-year naming-rights agreement with Jersey City-based online wagering site BetMGM to rename the transit agency’s rail line to the station serving MetLife Stadium, home of the area’s two NFL teams, as the “BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line.”

NJ Transit did not announce the value of the agreement in its press release, but NJ.com reports the deal is worth $3 million. The agreement also includes extensive print and digital advertising throughout the NJ Transit system.

The line in question, between the Secaucus Junction and Meadowlands stations, only operates for select events at MetLife Stadium.

“This unique advertising partnership represents a significant new source of revenue for NJ Transit,” agency CEO Kevin S. Corbett said in the press release. “This new and innovative partnership is part of our continued commitment to leverage NJ Transit assets to maximize non-farebox revenue and help keep fares stable for our customers.”

The new branding will appear on NJ transit system maps, station signage, and elsewhere.
