For our Thin Branch project railroad, David used foam insulation board as a base for much of the scenery. In this video installment, he shows how he used the foam to build a simple tunnel liner.

  1. Great video and it moved me (a little) to start on the foam landscape under my bridges (before track covers up the open spaces. WILD DISCOVERY! The Owens Corning (pink) foam that is marked 1/2” is actually 9/16”. I had intended to use up some scrap 1/2” and 1” foam pieces to build up a hollow space but you can’t mix them. Anxiously awaiting Part 2

  2. Very nice. David is a great step by step trainer. As a professional modeler I can not always find seasoned modeling assistants (especially here in Tennessee) and David's videos make my training time much shorter. Thank You.

  3. I love the Thin Branch series! The eries came around just as I have been in a rebuild/remodel of my layout and I have picked up some good tips from the videoas – like David mentioning that I should ballast BEFORE I put the tunnel together. Had thought about that yet, Thanks David!

  4. Is there a part 2 to this video? This one builds the tunnel but when you go to plaster rocks, you've got the rest of the hill done.
