the layout is looking really good! I like the clear and concise instructional summation. Would also welcome directly afterwards real time demo of the steps. I find watching you guys actually demonstrating the techniques very helpful and I usually pick up a few more finer detail gems along the way. Thanks for sharing the HOW TO aspects of the hobby.
From a Broadcast Television point of view, this would be termed a “slide and booth” presentation…no video camera needed…just a series of still pictures plus narration.
Disappointing, to say the least…
I agree with Jeffery King. This is why I am paying for MR Video Plus. The entire Eagle Mountain series is like this. I expect live action step-by-step explanation like all your other project layouts. Otherwise I could just read the magazine and look at the pictures, which does not always illustrate the processes clearly. I also want to know where things can go wrong and understand the pitfalls and potential mistakes.
It WAS a nice overview, but isn’t the point of having this on video to actually SHOW something happening and being worked on, not just describe what has already taken place? These were essentially still photos with narration, which is what we get in the magazine… no action or demonstration of technique. No criticism intended, just an observation.

Nice overview of the process, Eric. One of the best tips I've ever come across for making and installing rock castings comes from Landrel Brown (incidentally who's building a beautiful 0n30 layout). In essence, he only partially fills his molds with a skim coat of hydrocal and then when they're cured he can snap them to fit precisely where he wants them.
