All the prep work is done, so now David can get down to the task of installing flexible On30 track and turnouts on MRVP’s Olympia Logging Co. layout. David demonstrates all of the essential tracklaying steps, including how to cut and trim the rails, remove and adjust the ties, install feeder wires, and secure the trackwork to the roadbed. He also shows how to install our insulated turnouts to accommodate under-layout actuators. As always, you’ll be sure to pick up other helpful tips along the way too!

  1. Excellent video David! Question… the feeder wire to power the frog, how is it fed into the main bus lines to receive power? Thanks!

  2. What? No "out take"? One of the primary reasons I'm watching! If there were no screw-ups or verbal gaffes, go find one of Cody's and stick it in here….

  3. Another very informative video segment. You guys are doing great with MR Video Plus.

One thing though… at 6:41 in this video, a 'Talent Error' graphic comes up chastising David about using the term 'throw bar'. Unfortunately, there is a graphics error within it! It should read: '… the rod is much TOO heavy …'

If you're going to call David out, you'd better be 'golden' yourself! 🙂

    Good job, nonetheless, guys!

  4. Uh, David, in the video you still had the rail joiners between the track on the sector plate and the track to the turnout when you glued the track down. How did you get them off without upsetting the alignment?

  5. Great segment on track laying David and nice demonstration on connecting feeder wires to the bottom of the rails. Sweet.
