I’ve watched this 4-part series several times, and I’ve noticed one thing lacking in the detail. Where’s all the “empties”, used tires and other detritus? Otherwise, the stream looks almost real.
Just what I needed right now as I'm getting ready to start my river/lake. This is what I like about Video Plus. It's always here with the information when I am ready for a particular project. Great work folks!

Great work on the Thin Branch how-to series of videos. I enjoyed each one of them.
I happened to run across the following announcement in the September, 1938 issue of MR recently: “An idea factory has been installed in The Model Railroader office. It is a small but complete shop typical of the kind owned by model railroaders, in which projects will be built, photographed, drawn and written up for publication.” I’m sure Al Kalmbach would be delighted to know how his little “Idea Factory” has blossomed in the 21st century, and he would be amazed, to be sure, at the new modeling, publication and communication technologies the MR crew has mastered.

The timing of you 4 part series couldn't have come at a better time for me. The series removed a lot of the fears that I had as I began working on the river and lake scene on my Virginia & Truckee railroad set in northern Nevada. The river bed and lake bed are near finish and getting ready for the water. Thanks for a great series and the excellent instructions!

This is great stuff: thanks for the really nice demonstration of the craft of building realistic scenes. I think that's the hardest part of doing a model railroad—-I may never be like that Poelle guy but now I have some techniques.

It's amazing how real it looks once the ripples are added and i was thinking how cool it would look if there were 1 or 2 trout in the river as well.
