Milwaukee, Racine & Troy HO scale steel cupola caboose - road name 1407
Don’t miss this exclusive HO scale Milwaukee, Racine & Troy steel cupola caboose.
This is a great series. The same techniques can be applied to many different circumstances. I like that multiple solutions, like 3 ways to model water, and 3 ways to create rock walls, are shown for the same situation. It would be nice if the episodes were arranged in a playlist: the main episodes in one list, the scenery in another, water could be in another.
Have you considered doing the six foot Cam Loop extension that David talked about in the video. If not on the model then at least on paper. It would be cool to see what that extension would look like. Thanks for a great project layout. Keep up the great work.
Definitely agree with the others on one more action/operating video. This has been a fantastic series to follow along. Even though I’m an O operator and collector, there’s been lots of great modelling ideas. Thanks again!
I agree with Paul Henheffer, You need to do one more video. If it’s a “railfan” layout, then get out the cameras and go trackside. Show off the finished product!
Beautiful job everyone!
Excellentg work David & Drew, learned alot espically when I watch the Video and then read the article in MR. Thanks Guys raeally appareciate your dedication to the hobby.
About the most challenging layout you’re presented and as we move from Colorado to Georgia in the next year, I hope I get the gumption to give this a try. For sure considering a helix in next layout. One wish, and that would have to have seen more operations in this video. But well done team.
Super job, a lot learned, and incorporating some things into my layout. Hope to see another layout soon, this time much larger….. Nice Job….
This is a great layout and it needs one more video, hopefully at least 10 minutes in length, showing the operation of trains on it through all phases of the layout.
Will this layout be shown at train shows? Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, MA?
I enjoyed every minute of this series; but, I am disappointed that there was not a video demonstrating an operating session that illustrates how the programming managed trains in the first level staging area when there was an early video illustrating and explaining all the wiring and thought that went into configuring this feature of Canadian Canyons.
Thank you for this build. I did enjoy watching all the videos. It would be cool if you did add the cam loop. Thank you for sharing.
When do we get to see the signal system?
I sure enjoyed following this series build. I learned a lot of things to use in my own construction of a similar scene.
So, Now, send Drew out on another adventure, maybe follow the old Rio Grande Southern from Durango to Ridgeway and include Telluride. I’m sure you can find an interesting place for Drew to document. I find Drew’s Trackside Adventurers to be the most interesting videos you guys produce!
Thanks for the fun Drew!
Fantastic Series, Really enjoyed tham all and learned alot.
Thanks David.
Great series, hope we’re going to see a operating session. Surely any excuse to run trains?
Its ABOUT time! (Or is it “finally finished” for real?)
Did I say that outloud?
Besides “beautiful” what do I say other than so MANY ways of doing the same thing differently (or something like that.) There aren’t enough words to say how entertaining and educational and enjoyable and other words to the effect that while long and drawn out this project was exciting to watch. (Sort of reminds me of the golden oldie – “Anticipation”)
Okay, David, I think you just did it to yourself this time. Having an “extension” of the Beer Line (although I would have preferred having two halves instead of one whole) was wonderful. Not to forget the Thin Branch, too. While I model in HO, I think your suggestion to “extend” the removable portion (especially with how to get the “water” to match) would be enjoyable.
Keep up the excellent work. THIS is why I keep watching MRVP!
Stand up and take a bow as this was the best project layout to date! Seemed lengthy, but I enjoyed each and every episode. David hit this one ‘outta da park’ with the layout concept/design from Drew/Kent/Charlie’s fantastic DTA to Canada. Was glad to see this a truly team event with the MR gang contributing their specialties to the different areas. You have my undying devotion (and renewal subscription) and anxiously awaiting the next project layout!
Robert Carlson,
Same Jenny, but with a new last name!
Thanks guys! Keep it up! Let’s make another layout! Building is what it’s all about!
So, it is done, mostly! Like all railroads improvements can likely be made!! I have been watching this one from the beginning! Thanks for sharing!
This has been a really exciting, if lengthy, project to watch on the workshop cam and in these MRVP videos. Great idea to have a new series building an expansion of this layout. I’ve found two more N scale depictions of this area on You Tube which show the great potential for modeling of this region.
Thanks everyone. That was a fun and informative series.
Hello Robert,
Signaling is still coming, and at least the next installment should appear later this month. We needed too post this video to go with the MR feature stories on the layout. And, we wanted to wrap thing up before the new layout series begins at the end of March. Watch Ask MRVP later in February for a sneak peek at what we’ve got coming in 2019!
David
Now that your “epic” is completed, I have just one question to ask: Is the Jenny Freeland the same person as the Jenny Maaske who started all those years ago?
I agree with Robert: best series ever. But, where is the promised section on signalling?
