Though it is toxic, and should be only used in a well ventilated area, I use Berryman’s B-12 carburetor cleaner as my final cleaning agent before putting my airbrushes away from a session. It thogoughly cleans everything out and doesn’t harm any of the seals inside the brush. I had to be dormant for several years as for painting. When I resumed, I pulled out the brush, ran a bit of water through the brush and it worked as good a new. Highly recommended, though it will eat through even heavy duty nitrile gloves. Further, I have found no long term effects on your hands if you get it on you as long as you wash up thorouughly after you’re finished and maybe use a little mechanics hand cream
Great tip! Does this work for solvent-based and acrylic paints?
Steve, I have missed seeing you in videos. Good to have you back. Keep it coming!
I built a piece of aluminum 4×10″ with .020″ diameter piano wires every .020″ with .020″ spacing. laid a sheet of wet paper on the wires and compressed it with foam and piece of plywood with C clamps to make my coreugated siding.
Steve Otte’s idea of using HD aluminum foil between sheets of styrene would make it a lot simpler!
These quick tips are great. Please keep them coming!
