MTH's SD24, some helpful literature, and cheap cars
My wife and I were recently celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary in Santa Rosa, CA and stopped in at Whistlestop Antiques near the town’s historic Railroad Square. On the second floor was a booth with HO, American Flyer and Lionel trains with a large variety. There was a Marx set ($140) complete with track and a transformer and a 1927 Lionel set (#248 for $325.00) with a working locomotive and 3 cars. I opted for a $5.00 caboose for a friend. You’re right about filling our your roster with cars that won’t set you back a fistfull of money. I could’ve easily done it but I model in HO and run my small collection at Just Trains layout in Concord, CA. Thanks for a great show!
Well done. I’m a big fan of the short 8.5″ post war box cars. Check my YouTube Channel under Richard Sobieck for my Videos on the 6014 Frisco cars and an overview on other short boxcars.
I thought MTH was closing down.
My favorite of CTT items are the BTB episodes. Thanks again!
