Once again Roger a great explanation for those who are not aware of all the B units. Keep the info coming and I am waiting for your nest video.
Roger, nice work on the F3-B units. There is another version that needs to mentioned. In 1954 there was a B unit produced that changed from screens to louvers, but also retains the portholes with lenses. The Santa Fe version was numbered 2353C. By 1956 the B units were then produced with louvers and filled portholes. Hope that helps some collectors that may have this piece, or now needs it to complete another search.
Great job Roger! Love watching these videos! Keep them coming!
Great presentation and information on “B” units. I bet most people do not realize the later “B” unit roofs did not match the earlier “A” unit roofs – later model “B’s”, as you pointed out, did not have the screen wire. I like the screen wire configuration much better. Again, very enjoyable video and look forward to your next presentation.
Leonard Hopkins; Have to admit I agree with you about Roger’s delivery. Roger, I respect your knowledge of toy trains—and I realize that many viewers may not have known the finer points of B-unit details as well as I do —but move it along a little faster, please?
As always Roger’s video was a pleasure to watch – keep them coming. Has CTT ever considered compiling these into an extended DVD? I would love it.
Hey Roger: Not everyone who watches your & MR’s video’s has the I. Q. of a kumquat. You can speak at a regular pace and we will all understand and if we are receiving this e-mail I am pretty sure we already know what a B-unit is. Your presentation grade and this is coming from a seasoned veteran teacher of over 30 years is a C. Obviously, I do not give inflated grades as some of our earlier viewers. Speed it up and include a little more information. I will give you some personal pointers when I see you at your YORK exhibit in the orange hall next week.
All ways a wealth of information for collecting did not know the difference of the roofs on the B unite. Keep the info coming.
Superb I also can relate !948 . I was two and had a Marx 10005 silver & red . But it didn’t survive the high level of water in the basement. 1952 Christmas brought my brother &me a b-unit from Marx Santa Fe . Great article I still have the B-Unit today.
GREAT video!!
Yes, love the history…. looking for your next special edition.
Nice video Roger hope to see more of them very good
I have not the words to explain why, Mr. Carp but your video produced such a big happiness in me. I enjoyed every second of it. I have to add that besides the content, the production is flawless and add a lot to the enjoyment. Thanks to you all. Best regards from Colombia (yes, SouthAmerica)
Great info, This is the first video of Roger Carp i have seen, hope to see many more!
Fantastic video I could hear Roger with no problem unlike the previous experience I had with the video with enhanced sounds (not) great knowing my computers not broken, just your web site needs fixing
Thanks Roger, you're a star in my book. Good job.
I find the videos that you and Bob put out. I also like the B/W openings. A+ as well
Roger…..you get an A+ in my book!
Roger, good video. I too always learn something new from your articles.
Mark, I think the Wabash F3 only had came as an AB configuration. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Always enjoy these videos on classic Lionel. Keep'em coming.
