While working the recent TCA Eastern Division York show, Roger Carp and I heard three rumors about the magazine. We’d like to share the questions–and answers–here.

Classic Toy Trains is no longer printing issues

Yes, we are still printing issues on a quarterly schedule. We also offer digital issues. If you’re a print subscriber, nothing will change. Issues are marked Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter (approximately February, May, August, and November releases). You choose which version(s) of the issues you’d like to see/receive.

CTT no longer covers S gauge layouts/products

Also untrue. We had a how-to project in the Spring issue, and have a layout feature coming in the Summer issue. If you’re a Trains.com member, there’s lots of content for you, such as the ScaleTrains 40-foot boxcar review, a recent find in our offices that included Flyer content, and much more is planned for the months ahead.

CTT and Classic Trains magazines have been sold

UPDATE: As of May 1, Classic Toy Trains, Classic Trains, Model Railroader, Garden Railways, Trains, and Trains.com have been sold to Firecrown Media. Read their press release: https://www.freightwaves.com/news/firecrown-media-grows-again-with-addition-of-trains-astronomy
