Tony’s interest in small trains began at age 4 with an O-27 Lionel set he still has today and progressed to Super-O, then HO at the Purdue Railroad Club. His current HO railroad is his second home layout. Tony has been writing his Trains of Thought column for Model Railroader since November 1985. Before that, he held several editing positions at Railroad Model Craftsman between 1969 and 1981, culminating as editor-in-chief.
