PENINSULA, Ohio — The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad will resume operations this Friday, May 3, after a two-month shutdown to address safety and operational procedures.

During the hiatus, the heritage railway says it enacted improvements in radio communications and operations management software; installed cameras in locomotives; and implemented new operating rules and procedures scaled to its level of operations.

“CVSR stands as a testament to excellence in scenic railroading, a leader of industry innovation and dedication,” Joe Mazur, the railroad’s CEO, said in a press release. “Our team’s relentless pursuit of safety and service excellence defines us. I am immensely proud of our staff and volunteers, whose commitment and hard work has paved the way for our return to the rails.”
