Gerry Leone recaps his work on the sandpaper street of Westcott, a town on his new HO scale (1:87.1) model railroad. Now it’s time to add rule, order, and realism to the roadways – by means of basic road markings and subtle weathering. Grab your brush, paint, water-soluble decals, and tools, to join in the fun!

Jerry have you looked at the difference between painted 100 grit paper vs 400 grit wet/dry mylar backed paper? It’s already light gray so might save some steps.
Thanks for the comment, Jim. Actually, in Episode 1 of this series I talked about different grits of sandpaper. I ruled out 80 grit because it was far too coarse, and ruled out 150 grit because it wasn’t coarse enough to catch the bristles of the brush during the drybrushing phase. 100 grit seems perfect to me, so 400 would be far too fine for the drybrushing. Thanks for the suggestion, tho!
My apologies, Jim. I talked about the sandpaper grits in Episode 3 of this series, not Episode 1.
