MINNEAPOLIS — Seven people were injured — two in a vehicle, and five on the trains — in a collision between a car and two Metro Transit light-rail trains Monday night, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
The collision occurred shortly after 9 p.m. at the corner of South 5th Street and Portland Avenue South. Preliminary information indicates the vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound train, then pushed into a northbound train. It was lodged between the two trains when emergency personnel arrived.
The people in the vehicle were extricated and transported to a hospital, one with critical injuries and one with minor injuries. The five people aboard the trains reported minor injuries.
