HARTFORD — As of Monday, April 25, Amtrak has restored Hartford Line service — between New Haven and Hartford, Conn., and Springfield, Mass., to pre-pandemic levels, the company announced Monday.
The move means the return of seven trains — two on weekdays, one on Saturdays, and four on Sundays. The partnership between Amtrak, Connecticut’s CTrail service, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation means service will include 29 weekday frequencies between New Haven and Springfield, along with nine on Saturdays and 12 on Sundays.
“We are thankful for the partnership with Amtrak and Massachusetts DOT,” Connecticut DOT Commissioner Joseph Giulietti said in a press release. “Service levels are increasing because ridership is also increasing. People are returning to work, traveling for pleasure, and using the trains to get to where they need to be.”
